Snow, Shots and Shopping
Busy, Busy Day........okay, so a normal day. It's always busy here.
We didn't go to be until after midnight so I guess it started really early. Seems like all we ever talk about these days are Madelyn and what we are packing, how we're getting there, packing for all the boys and ourselves, passports, visas, hotels, etc. We finally get some sleep only to be woken up at 6am by the phone ringing. Tony had taken a half day off so we were actually going to sleep in until 7am we thought. When a phone rings while I'm asleep I'm awake instantly. Turned out to be the school system weather alert saying school was canceled. I don't have one in the county school but we just changed our phone number and whoever had our number must have been on every call list.
Schools canceled due to snow and freezing rain. There wasn't much of it. We had our travel medicine visit scheduled for this morning. I called to make sure they were still open and they said yes. A friend offered to watch the kids and while we were dropping them off nurse calls to see if we're still coming (we weren't running late) b/c they were going to leave b/c of the weather so we had to get up there as fast as we could. I still haven't figured out how two injections each, typhoid pills and two nurse visits cost $375 but I guess that's better than being sick with Hep A, B, typhoid or tetunus. Logan has his visit next week for travel medicine.
Afterwards we had to make sure FedEx had our money for our hotels in Chongqing and Guangzhou. We've booked rooms for the Victory Hotel in Guangzhou and Harbour Plaza in Chongqing. Our travel agent needed the money order tomorrow.
We also got a chance to go out and start buying for our packing list again. We're probably overpacking but better safe than sorry, right? I felt like we cleaned out the pharmacy area of over-the-counter meds. We did spend $80 on Logan. Part of it is an early birthday present for him. He now owns his own Digital Camera - Fisher Price Kid Tough. He doesn't know it yet but he has been wanting one. He always wants to take pictures with my camera so now he can use his own. We also bought another Leapster game that will hopefully occupy him some on the long plane ride.
Last night we finalized our flight plan and will be heading out 2/23 and back on 3/8. Leaving out we have a 7 1/2 hr layover in LA. I've never been to California. We're hoping to find something to do while there for that long spand of time instead of waiting in the terminal on our flight straight to China.
Unfornately we'll be missing Nate and Andrew's first birthday. I think we're going to have a small get-together the weekend we return for their birthday plus welcoming Madelyn to the family. We'll all be jet-lagged for sure but I can't forget I have two others that need me too. I'm already bummed about missing their first birthday.
All kids asleep, time to crash.

How exciting! Bummer bout the twins birthday... I guess its not every day you get to go to China, and meet your baby girl?!
You'll have a ball when you get home with your WHOLE family. What a good feeling.
