Maybe end of July DTC but probably August
I've been questioning some other NC adoption parents about their 171H. Seems it is taking about 2 months for this to come in after Home Study is sent in to USCIS. That means we're looking at late July or August before we're DTC (dossier to China). If this is the case, if we go by average time from DTC to referrel, that means we're looking at March before we get a picture of our new child. :( I was hoping sooner but we'll just have to wait. I'm hoping this doesn't mean we would end up traveling around Logan's birthday in April.

Hey Melissa, Just in case you haven't seen our timeline posted on our blog, I wanted to get it to you. A note of interest: should you have any trouble with INS, your agency CAN contact them on your behalf.

Hi! I live in Monroe and used the Charlotte USCIS office.
This was our timeline:
*10/14 1st HS visit
*That same week sent application to USCIS
*10/24 final hs visit
had to wait on physical results
*11/13 hs finished and sent to USCIS and us.
*At somepoint we received our fp appt. (can't remember when, though)
*12/1 fingerprinted
*1/8/05 received I171-H
We had our dossier held one month by our agency b/c Will was being deployed to Iraq so we are March DTC.
Here's to a speedy I171-H!
Susan
Hi Melissa,
We're still waiting for our i171-H, so my timeline won't help you much, but here it is just for grins:
2/3/05: ATWA starts homestudy (HS)
2/6/05: i600-A form to INS
3/6/05: INS request i134 + more docs
4/6/05: HS + docs to INS
4/20/05: INS rejects HS
4/22/05: New HS to INS
Current Step!: Wait for i171-H, INS approval to adopt.
(Waiting for -36- days so far)
Hope your wait is short and speedy. Look forward to following your journey. Take care.
